German Literature Archive Marbach am Neckar
In 1955 the German Literature Archive was founded as an extension of the National Schiller Museum. It moved into its own building in 1973 and is today one of the most important literary institutions in the world. The main focus of its collections is on the estates of famous authors and publishers' archives. These are accessible for research purposes and are on view to the public in the museums. The collections give an impression of German literature and of literary and cultural life from 1750 up to the present day. The current exhibitions are accompanied by a diversified fringe programme.
