Hohenlohe open-air museum

The Hohenlohe open-air museum in Wackershofen is only a few minutes' drive from the centre of Schwäbisch Hall. Set amid extensive grounds, this idyllic museum village consists of 70 historical buildings spanning five centuries and grouped according to different themes.

Farmhouses large and small, barns, mills, wine presses, bakeries, inns, a chapel and a school, all with their original furnishings, paint a vivid picture of what life was like before the introduction of running water, television and central heating. Domestic animals and livestock, historical agricultural equipment, exhibitions and demonstrations of traditional crafts give an insight into the rural life of the past.
