Swabian Forest Railway
The history of the Swabian Forest Railway began in the year 1911. The track from the departure point in Schorndorf to the terminus in Welzheim is around 22.9 km long. And it's demanding: the railway line through the Swabian Forest is not just one of the loveliest, but also one of the steepest in Baden-Württemberg.
From May to October it's "full steam ahead" for the historic steam and diesel trains every Sunday and on public holidays. A unique outing, not only for technology-mad train enthusiasts, but also for families and day trippers. Each of the stops invites you to enjoy a varied tour of discovery.
