Tourist Information Schwäbisch Hall

As the name Schwäbisch Hall would suggest ("Hall" refers to the process of salt production by heating brine), this is a city of salters and the salt trade. For centuries the salters here produced the "white gold of the Middle Ages". The salt trade brought the town prosperity and is the reason why it has remained an architectural gem up to the present day.

Typical souvenirs are the salty sweets and the little bags of salt made from genuine Hall brine. Both can be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre on the marketplace.
